My TUMO Workshop

Course Title: Personal Geographies— Exploring Your Community Through the Lens of Data Visualization

Course Summary: During this workshop, students will take a deep-dive into data-visualization and mapmaking. The course operates through a mix of group design critiques, hand-drawn and digitized sketching lessons, and independent coding projects. In the first week, students are pushed to think critically about types of data representation and the subconscious psychology that underlies them. Then in week 2, students will use visualization tools such as Tableau, R, and D3.js to launch their own research project. Taught by Ethan McFarlin

Workshop Dates: January 12th, 2022 to January 22nd, 2022 (Monday through Saturday), from 15:30-19:30
